How ZebraCV handles account data, resume content, AI requests, analytics, billing, and your privacy choices.

01

Who this policy covers

This Privacy Policy explains how ZebraCV collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use zebracv.com, the resume builder, AI assistance, document sharing, billing, support, and related services.

By using ZebraCV, you choose what resume, career, and account information to provide. Resume content is often personal, so we treat it as private by default unless you intentionally create a public share link.

02

Information you provide

For accounts, we keep the basics needed to run ZebraCV: your email address, sign-in or verification status, product preferences, and billing status. If you start as a guest, we may create a temporary account so your work is not lost before you sign in.

Your resume content is your document content. You may choose to type, import, edit, save, export, or share details such as experience, education, skills, job targets, templates, and photos because those details are part of the resume or cover letter you are building. We use that content to provide the editor, exports, sharing, and AI features you ask for.

If you contact us for support or feedback, we use the information you include in that message so we can respond and fix or improve the service.

03

Information collected automatically

We collect limited product analytics such as page path, feature actions, session identifier, browser locale, timezone, viewport size, referrer path, account type, and user agent. Our analytics pipeline is designed to record actions, not resume text, and it strips obvious personal-content fields before storage.

We may use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, maintain analytics sessions, support security, and provide core product functionality.

We may infer approximate country or region from a request to set useful defaults, such as resume page size.

04

How we use information

We use information to provide the resume builder, save your documents, parse uploaded files, generate PDF exports, power AI suggestions, enable document sharing, process billing, send account emails, respond to support requests, and keep the service secure.

We use product analytics to understand whether key flows work, diagnose reliability issues, improve onboarding, measure feature use, and make ZebraCV easier to use.

We may use your email to send transactional messages such as sign-in codes, account notices, billing updates, security messages, and important changes to these policies. We may send promotional messages only where allowed by law, and you can opt out of marketing emails.

05

AI features and resume content

When you use AI assistance, parsing, scoring, or extraction features, relevant resume content, job descriptions, prompts, and surrounding context may be sent to our AI provider to generate the requested output.

We do not sell your resume content. We do not use your private resume content to train public AI models. You should review AI suggestions before using them, because generated text can be incomplete, inaccurate, or not suited to your circumstances.

In development environments, AI request and response logs may be written locally for debugging. Production requests are handled through the application service and are not written to those local development logs.

06

Payments and billing

Payments are processed by Stripe. ZebraCV does not receive or store your full card number. Stripe may collect billing details, payment method information, tax information, transaction history, and fraud-prevention signals under its own terms and privacy policy.

We store Stripe customer identifiers, subscription status, plan information, checkout metadata, and billing events so we can grant premium access, manage subscriptions, prevent duplicate purchases, and provide support.

07

Sharing and public links

If you enable sharing for a document, ZebraCV creates a public link that can display the resume data and portrait photo associated with that document. Anyone with the link may be able to view it until you disable sharing.

Shared links are intended for your convenience. Do not publish a shared resume link if it contains information you do not want others to see.

08

Service providers

We share information with service providers only as needed to operate ZebraCV. These providers may include hosting and database providers, Stripe for payments, Google Gemini for AI features, Resend or email infrastructure for account messages, Sentry for error monitoring, and analytics or security tooling.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, to investigate abuse, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets.

09

Security and retention

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so you should use a secure email account and avoid adding unnecessary sensitive information to your documents.

We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and enforce our agreements. You may delete documents or request deletion of account data, subject to legal, security, and billing-record retention requirements.

10

Your choices and rights

You can review, edit, export, delete, or stop sharing your resume content from the product where those controls are available. You can manage billing through your profile and Stripe-powered billing flows.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, object to, or restrict certain processing of your personal information. To exercise privacy rights, contact [email protected].

If you are in the EEA, UK, Switzerland, Canada, or a US state with privacy rights, we will respond to requests as required by applicable law.

11

Children

ZebraCV is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child provided personal information to ZebraCV, contact [email protected] so we can review and delete it where required.

12

Changes and contact

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify users, such as updating the date on this page or providing an in-product or email notice.

Questions about privacy or data requests can be sent to [email protected].
